| Operating
System for Multiplayers, Version 4.412 |
|
Important notice:
The update operation will cause the device to initialize
and to clear all
user-defined settings such as matrix programs, I/O names etc., so do
not
update your device until you have saved all your work to a disk! On
MP-88, you will
also have mount the SCSI harddisk again by using the
Device Drive Manager's INS-function. Of course, all data on the
drive will remain unchanged
by the update operation!

| Updating
of Multiplayers |
|
All Multiplayer devices (letter "W"
appears in the device name) are equipped
with a FLASH-EEPROM, which allows to simply load the new operating
system
version from floppy disk. Please download the appropriate file and copy
it to a floppy disk. Then insert this disk into the floppy disk drive
of
your Multiplayer and call up the function "Update Operating System"
(UPD)
from Device Configuration Menu. Select the new OS-file from the floppy
disk's directory and press ENTER.
After loading data, the device will show "Programming FLASH EEPROM..."
for about six seconds. DO NOT TURN OFF the device during
that
time!
The device will reset and display the new OS-Version number before
it enters it's normal operation mode again.

| Updating
of MP-88 |
|
All MIDI Players MP-88 with operating
system versions prior to 2.05 are
not equipped with a FLASH-EEPROM yet. You may upgrade it by installing
a small
board, called "Flash ROM Upgrade" instead of the standard EPROM chip.
This is nearly
as simple as replacing an EPROM chip and can easily be done by
yourself.
Once this upgrade kit has been installed, any update operations are as
simple as described for the MultiPlayers. Please contact your local
dealer for obtaining a Flash ROM Upgrade for your MP-88.
Generally, all MP-88 with OS-version 3.x or higher are already equipped
with a Flash ROM.
If you are not sure, whether or not your MP-88 is equipped with a
Flash-ROM
already, call up the UPD function. You'll get the message: "Sorry -
unable
to program the installed type of ROM" if there is no Flash ROM
installed
yet.
